Being the first attempt to use multimedia to explore the inner conflict of characters, the Man in the Mirror has reached a very high level in terms of technical presentation: the motion of the protagonists are captured and projected in real time, in sync with the live movement of the real actors, which produced an effect of reality alternated with illusion, a visual and audio feast for audience. The story itself does not follow the typical model of “heroic inspector sending corrupted officials into prison”. Instead, it traces the different life trajectories of two protagonist, bringing out the ambivalence, conflict and confrontation within their mind during the contest between the righteous and the degraded. Every detail oozes the patriotism and the enthusiasm of a party member. With the aid of multimedia, the story is allowed to jump back and forth between past and present, from reality to illusion, directing attention from all walks of society to this humanistic work of art.
