Remarks from the Scriptwriter:
The Man in the Mirror is not a means of whistle-blowing nor a criticism of senior government officials. It is an attempt to analyze the psycho-motive of corrupted officials and to describe the mentality of the investigators during their investigation into the corruption cases.
Remarks from the Director:
In Shakespeare’s words, his work is “to hold the mirror up to nature: to show virtue her feature, scorn her own image, and the very age and body of the time his form and pressure,” said director Wang Yansong.
The Man in the Mirror is a mainstream stage play that focuses on the interpretation of humanities, and hopefully I could render it into something different in terms of its visual effects and performance.
